1. It is not a calendar day, but an extended period of judgment beginning with the Lord's parousia (presence and coming ) and ending with the great white throne judgment. The events of this period are detailed in 2 Pet. 3:8-13 and Rev. 20:1-15.
2."The Day of the Lord" is essentially the day of the Lord's judgment in contrast to "man's day" mentioned in 1 Cor. 4:3-5, which is the time of man's judgment.
