1. Deep in the Father was Jesus above,
        The Only Begotten, the Son of His love.
        Sent forth from the Father, He died for our sin,
        Then rising, escorted us in.

           Deep in the Father He presses for fellowship
           Into the bosom of Love,
      &    Constantly pressing anew in sweet fellowship,
           Deep in the Father above.
           Thank God we're included! What mercies we prove!
           We're loved with the uttermost love.

  2. Deep in the Father His love-life abounds;
        This flow in the Godhead our being surrounds,
        While Sonward Love's current streams down from above;
        We're deep in the Father of love.

  3. 3. Deep in the Father, eternally blessed!
        No hint, here, of effort, just peace and sweet rest;
        So safely enfolded in His fond embrace,
        We linger, beholding His face.

  4. 4. Deep in the Father where no fear abides,
        A spirit of sonship in our heart resides;
        From Jesus to Abba Love's current rebounds,
        And joy in the Godhead resounds.

  5. 5. Jesus to Abba to Jesus again
        The waves of God's passion ascend and descend.
        We're caught in the crossfire of fathomless praise,
        And glory is filling our days.
